Getting Started with Gridlock

📖 Quick Start5 min readUpdated May 2026

💡 Before You Begin

You'll need a Gridlock account (free trial available) and network access to at least one client environment. That's it.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Head to lockthegrid.com/dashboard and sign up. You'll get a 14-day free trial with full access to all features on the Pro plan. No credit card required.

After signing up, you'll land on the dashboard. Take 30 seconds to set your company name and timezone — the agents will use this for report scheduling.

Step 2: Connect Your Network

Gridlock connects to your client networks through a lightweight connector. Download the connector from the dashboard and deploy it to any Windows or Linux machine on the network.

🔌 Connector Requirements

The connector needs outbound HTTPS access (port 443) to api.lockthegrid.com. No inbound ports required. Works behind NAT and firewalls.

Once deployed, the connector auto-registers with your Gridlock account. You'll see it appear in the dashboard within 60 seconds.

Step 3: Agents Deploy Automatically

This is where the magic happens. Once the connector is live, the Onboarding Agent kicks in automatically:

The entire process takes about 10 minutes. You can watch it happen in real-time on the dashboard.

Step 4: Monitor Your Dashboard

Your dashboard is now live. Here's what you'll see:
